Time and location stamped sign-in

A QR code on the site door is the clock-in. Each scan records who, when and where the phone is at that moment. Then it stops looking.

How it works
Step 1Scan the door

Every job gets its own printed QR sign. The lads scan it with the phone camera. Nothing to install.

Step 2Say yes, once per scan

The page asks "Share your location for this sign-in?" every time. They know exactly when it's checking.

Step 3Clocked in

The time and the phone's position are saved together. If they're away from site, it's flagged for the office, not blocked.

Step 4Clock out the same way

Scan again at the end of the day. Forgot? They get a reminder at finishing time, and can claim the hours with a reason for you to approve.

What's on record

  • Name and mobile number
  • Date and time of every sign-in and sign-out
  • Where the phone was at that moment, and how far from site
  • Flags: off site, no location, entered by hand
  • Trips off site for work, with the reason and a receipt photo

Questions

Is it tracking my team?

No. Location is read once, at the moment of the scan, after they say yes. Nothing runs in the background and nothing is installed. Close the page and it sees nothing.

Can someone sign in for a mate?

Each person's account is tied to their own mobile, confirmed by a text code, with Face ID or fingerprint after that. A photo of the QR from the van shows up as off site.

What if there's no signal?

The scan is saved on the phone and sends itself when the signal comes back.
